#PRKkajang : Politics of Reverse Takeover ; Can Wan Azizah be the Next Menteri Besar of Selangor?

1) As we know, the Court of Appeal has reversed the earlier judgement by the High Court and found Anwar guilty of committing sodomy and sentenced him to five years imprisonment. This second jail term for Anwar on a similar charge perhaps has earned him to be listed in the Guinness Book of Record for this unique achievement.

2) Subsequent to that turn of event, Anwar was barred from contesting in the Kajang by election thus making his hope of becoming the next Menteri Besar of Selangor suddenly became shattered to the ground. For awhile, the checkmate to Anwar left pakatan in a lurch and in the midst of this thunderbolt, Wan Azizah was named the candidate replacing her embattled husband.

3) Wan Azizah, the misfit politician has again come to the rescue for Anwar. This was akin to what happen when Wan Azizah vacated the Permatang Pauh Parlimen seat to allow Anwar to contest after his release. It seems that Wan Azizah has always played second fiddle to Anwar shadowing him each time he is caught in some kind of predicament.

4) However, in Permatang Pauh, it was Anwar who took over from Wan Azizah. In Kajang, it was just the reversal where Wan Azizah became the substitution for Anwar. While in Permatang Pauh it was a deliberate effort, in Kajang it became a desperate effort as Anwar's Political Supremacy in Pakatan remains unscathed.

5) The politics of reverse take over will stay in Pakatan for a long time as long as Anwar's family in united, PKR will remain intact. Rafizi, Saifudin and Azmin knows this for a fact. They don't want to rock the boat when it comes to Anwar's family.

6) Many in the Pakatan's camp are doubling their efforts in their desperate attempt to ensure of Wan Azizah's thumping victory. Any reduction in votes from the earlier majority would be disastrous for Anwar and Pakatan.

7) The next question is - if Wan Azizah won, would she become the next Menteri Besar of Selangor? If that happened than Wan Azizah's appointment would lead to a new phase in the history of Malaysian politics. As it is known, when it comes to Anwar and PKR, any kind of politic is possible as long as the end can justify the means.

8) Khalid Ibrahim would then have to relinquish his position to make way for Wan Azizah. It would be unthinkable for Khalid to disobey. After all Wan Azizah is the president of the party and no one can question her if the party so decide to appoint her as the Menteri Besar of Selangor replacing Khalid Ibrahim.

9) In fact, the Kajang move has now turned out to be to Anwar's advantage. Their attempt to dislodge Khalid can be easily executed and this has put Khalid in a political doldrums. Khalid knows that if Wan Azizah wanted the post, he would have to hand it over to Wan Azizah, like it or not.

10) This scenario will certainly change the Selangor political landscape and the appointment of Wan Azizah as the next Menteri Besar of Selangor will put Anwar in a stronger position to the control Selangor and its treasure chest.

11) Anwar and PKR needs Selangor's big reserve of about RM3 billion as a political capital to charge their quest to capture Putrajaya. Anwar is running out of financial steam and needs all the financial resources in the Malaysia's richest state. Anwar also wants to leverage on the cash reserve that Selangor has to draw more external fund from his allies making Selangor as their insurance policy.

12) Anwar knows that his support is running thin by the day. Pakatan leaders are tired of his manipulative style and rhetorics. His age and stamina is against him. He needs financial resources in abundance to keep him going and for his allies to continously support his distorted political course. They know Anwar's days are numbered but hang on to him for some dubious reasons. It's tit for tat !

12) Khalid is now anxious and his supporters are trying to reduce Wan Azizah's majority to enable his other supporters from PKR, PAS and DAP to hold the bargaining chip to maintain Khalid's position. Even then it would be demeaning for Wan Azizah to just be an ordinary State Asseblyman while Khalid sits as the Commander-In-Chief.

13) If Wan Azizah became the next Mentri Besar of Selangor will it result in another political crisis in Selangor ? Be it as it may, the situation will certainly put the palace and Wan Azizah in an awkward position especially on official religious duties and functions.

14) The Kajang voters will certainly employ their wisdom to choose their representative for the goodness and benefits of the Kajang community. They have to choose between Chew Mei Fun and Wan Azizah. As we know, Chew Mei Fun has an exemplary record when it comes to community services. She also has the experienced being a former Deputy Minister of Woman, Family and Community Development.

15) Chew Mei Fun has a strong network at the federal level as well as possesses the right tool of dedication and accountability in community services. It would be utterly unfortunate if these credentials were disregarded on voting day.

16) Though Wan Azizah is said to be an obedient wife and a good mother but it shall take more than just having those womanly virtues to be a good politician of people's choice. Many is of the view that its regrettable for Wan Azizah to be constantly exploited as an object of manipulation by PKR and the Kajang Move is no exclusion.

17) As to be expected, the political campaign by Pakatan in the Kajang by-election is robust and brutal. Even the story behind the missing MH370 is being exploited by Pakatan to unimaginable proportion disregarding the sensitivity of the incident and the family members of the passengers and crews on board the ill-fated flight.

18)On voting day the politics of lies, hatred and provocation must be buried to the ground. At the same time, the practice of the politics of reverse take over propounded by Anwar must be totally dismissed. The Kajang voters are conscious that they will not be easily duped and misguided by Anwar and PKR.

19) The Kajang by-election must not be used as the ground where politics of deceit and personal agenda be allowed to flourish but it must be adopted as the thrust where politics of truth and reality shall triumph. A vote for Chew Mei Fun is a vote for harmony, stability and prosperity for all Malaysian.
